Rainbow pictures for Nightingale Hospital
The London Excel centre has been transformed into a temporary hospital to treat up to 4000 people. Now the staff at the Nightingale hospital want you to help them to decorate the centre in order to keep all of the patients smiling while they get over the virus.
So what exactly is it you need to do? And what address should you send the rainbows for Nightingale to? Here’s everything you need to know:
What do you need to do?
You and your kids need to get crafty with an A4 piece of paper, creating your most colourful rainbows and messages of positivity.
There’s no restrictions on how many you can draw and they’re encouraging you to write messages of hope or well wishes on them too.
If possible, they’re asking all pictures be laminated, for germ purposes, before sending, but don’t worry if not, the volunteers for the programme can also do it.
Where should I send my Nightingale rainbow picture?
Each region has an address where your pictures need to be sent to. Head over to the NHSNightingale Facebook page to find your nearest one.
Coronavirus NHS Advice
I am writing to reassure you that the school is following the advice of Public Health England (PHE) and the Local Authority to ensure the health of our whole community, including pupils and staff.
Novel coronavirus (2019-nCov) is a new strain of coronavirus first identified in Wuhan City, China. The Department of Health and Social Care and Public Health England are carefully monitoring the coronavirus situation and have published information and advice for the public. As the situation is rapidly developing, please check the online advice for the latest and most up-to-date information https://www.gov.uk/guidance/wuhan-novel-coronavirus-information-for-the-public and the PHE blog for further information https://publichealthmatters.blog.gov.uk/2020/01/23/wuhan-novel-coronavirus-what-you-need-to-know/
We are aware of the stories and rumours circulating in the media and local area in relation to schools closing. The guidance from the government is really clear and I would like to take the opportunity to assure you that we have not been put on alert to close and at present we have no plans to close the school for any additional time.
We are working closely with the Local Authority and if we are advised differently by Public Health England and the Department for Education to close, we will inform parents and carers immediately.”
Wandle Valley Academy is a special provision working to support 80 pupils aged 5-16, with SEMH difficulties
We hope our website gives you a flavour of the exciting opportunities we offer at Wandle Valley Academy and shows you some of the amazing activities that our pupils are, and have taken part in highlighting their achievements.
We are located on the St Helier Estate, in an adapted secondary school building to which we are privileged to have our own onsite playing fields and gym. We offer a positive and diverse learning experience for all pupils that attend our educational facilities.
